Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on August 8, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Her parents as a dentist and teacher, were aware of and supported their daughter's passion for acting and drama on a young stage. This support was enough to overcome her original ambition to be a the first primatologist. It was a quick rise in her career to become a famous young actor. In 1998, after completing her education, she was selected to participate in Jeunes Premiers, a French TV talent-scouting programme which was run by Canal+. There she won the award for Best Young Actress in Beziers Festival of Young Actors. It was this that led her to begin her professional career as an actor. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she is now separating herself from her childhood. As well as her acting profession she started a modelling career. It is her turn to be the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Also, she has an intense photographic passion and has recently exhibited her work during the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. The majority of her photographs concern famous people and celebrities. Also, they include a collection of self portraits and also. Audrey Tautou's global popularity and success exploded following her role in the film as Amelie Poulain's leading lady in Le Fabuleux Destin in the film d'Amelie. Amelie has been an international box office success and has been lauded at numerous award events around the globe. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to date in the US. In the following year, she was a part of British dramas including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet Un long Sunday de Faancailles. Then Tautou moved to Hollywood in the United States, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
